The Nowhere Place

We’re taking a quiet night ride, as we often do. It’s pitch black and snowing. The perfect weather to drive around aimlessly.

Mom texts to remind me to set an alarm to take my meds, because I've been forgetting to do it. She also asks me to be careful not to wake the dog when I come in. Orla is humming under her breath as she drives. The world outside is still and muffled. It is unrecognizable under this blanket of white. 

My eyelids feel weighted down and a wave of unnatural tiredness washes over me.I don’t remember falling asleep or getting out of the car.
